Nathan Thompson

Nathan Thompson's new CD, Solid Ground (Old G-48 Records), was produced by Matt McClure and recorded at The Playground in Nashville.  His debut effort is a showcase for his songwriting and vocals and some impressive guitar work by some of Nashville's best.

The album embodies Thompson's view of life through relationships -romantic, family, friends, others- with an overlay of thoughtfulness and humor.  His expressive music and lyrics speak in a universal language to people who have experienced loss, missing someone, learning something new, or emotional healing.

"My songwriting comes from within because I need to deeply connect to whatever it is I am writing about," says Thompson, who is a graduate of St. Olaf College and Berklee College of Music.  He draws his musical inspiration from scions such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles and Buddy Miller, among others.
